What do you really want?

We’re often great at knowing what we don’t want. We see it clearly in jobs, relationships, or situations that don’t work for us. But we’re not always as good at figuring out and naming what we do want.
The problem is, if we’re unclear on this, how can we evaluate future options when we don’t even know what we want?!
Like so many profound things, it’s actually quite simple. Take some time to write down what you’d like in a particular area of life, e.g., your ideal job.
Focus on practical attributes and also how you want to feel. Don’t limit yourself with “I could never have” thoughts - why can’t you have what you want?
Think back to past positive experiences and pull out the highlights to include on your list. Consider things you haven't experienced yet but that would make it perfect for you.
Be holistic, be expansive, be idealistic - consider both the small details and the big picture.
There’s an art to making this a reality, but starting with clarity is the first step.
Happy map-making!
